All the world's a stage! Enjoy a program of theater-inspired romantic works, from the passion of operatic arias and duets and the light-hearted sentiments of musical theater (featuring outstanding regional singers, soprano Laura Storm and tenor Christian Feazell) to powerful orchestral excerpts from opera, such as Jules Massenet's rapturous "Meditation" from Thais and Alexander Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" from Prince Igor. Experience music written for spoken drama in the tragic obsessive love of Daudet's L'Arlesienne (with music by Georges Bizet) and the pomp and ceremony of the famous "Wedding March" from Feliz Mendelssohn's incidental music to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. And embrace the child-like innocence of fairy-tale love in Maurice Ravel's music from his ballet, Mother Goose.
